Recently, NHN's TERA has been involved in a crisis again. Though it is still ranked the third place in the MMO game list, its popularity keeps going down.
According to the survey of Internet cafe occupancy on April 18th, TERA dipped to the fourth place with 7.48% of Internet cafe occupancy, creating the worst record in history. Nevertheless, during the OBT in January, TERA was the top of the game list, with 29 server groups, 160,000 concurrent online users and 15% of Internet cafes occupancy. This month, TERA's market share has fallen to 7% from last month's 10%.
Currently, TERA's upsurge in opening up new servers cools off and players don't need to wait for logging to servers. As the survey shows, a lot of players expressed that their in-game friends left the game one by one.
TERA's non-targeting combat system is indeed well received, but numerous players don't satisfy with the system settings, some of them even lodged protests for many times. That is because they think TERA's non-targeting combat system only makes things easy for mouse-controllers, but keyboard users can hardly experience the fun of such combats.
